Smokey's BBQ and Grill churns it up with Hot Dog Festival

Winter months are never gastronomically complete without some kind of grill or BBQ happening around. This is precisely what Smokey's BBQ & Grill realised, and is making it big for food lovers in New Delhi. The earlier conducted Chicken Festival turned to be a hit, and this time, the hotdogs and BBQ offerings will be pampering foodies, from the 23rd January to end of April. From what became popular in cartoonist T.A. Dorgan's caricatures of German figures in buns, is now a rage as a favorite meal, with regional specialties to boast of.

                                                           The festival sure looks delicious

To keep the taste buds interested, expect everything from the traditional 10-inch hot dogs to the more innovative variants from around the world.

Super Boy & Mama's Boy hotdog

There were some star offerings such as the Super Boy a 10” hot dog with rookworst pork sausage and chilli pork, other than the Mama's Boya 10” hot dog stuffed with tossed chicken in reshampatti chilli and smoked chicken sausage.

Big Daddy & Spicy Ball Dog

Other than those, these mouthering watering delicacies were on offer too, including Big Daddy, which is a 10” hot dog stuffed with chunky tenderloin and bacon flavored with red Bhawnagri Chilli and paprika. The Spicy Ball Dog got a lot of foodies interested, which is a 10” hot dog stuffed with juicy lamb & parmesan meatballs tossed in smokeys special spicy meat sauce.

Grilled vegetables and Couscous hotdog

We were all wondering what would the vegetarians feel like in a scenario where there are delicious meat options all around, but none in veggie section. Just then, a delicacy made itself appear with the Grilled vegetables and Couscous hotdog, which was just as much of a treat as their non-veg counterparts. This whole festival was like a fantasy land for gobbling up American specialty food, and filling in hunger pangs  for a long time to come.

           Andhra Style Tenderloin Chilli Dog

While the most dominating ones were from the 10-inch hot dogs, there were some interesting options from the 8-inch lot as well. We came upon this Indianized Andhra Style Tenderloin Chilli Dog, which was a good memory from the south Indian style of cooking. One must note that an option like this would be for the tongue trained to like the Indianized versions of western classic street food like hot dogs.  Other options on the menu included Crispy Veg Dog, Grill Chilli Dog Melt,
Spicy Chicken Hot Dog, Bacon Wrap Pork Sausage etc.

The food platter encapsulated

The event had some more to gorge on, but a human being has limitations of what taste it can take and for how long. There was always something for everyone, with varied tastes for multiple tongues and style preferences. The Dog Sliders would be a good option for anyone who is looking to share in a group, as these things come 4 in a plate.
